Sir Sly Biography
Sir Sly is an indie pop band consisting of vocalist Landon Jacobs, and instrumentalists Jason Suwito and Hayden Coplen. They released their first single, “Ghost”, in 2013, followed by their first album, “You Haunt Me”, in 2014.
Early Years
The trio formed in 2012, in Los Angeles, California. They began gaining popularity on The Hype Machine and, after playing at number 8 next to AlunaGeorge and Disclosure, they topped the chart. At first, their identities were surrounded in mystery, which added to their fame. The band’s style was often described as dark, honest, yet optimistic.
Breakthrough
In 2013, Sir Sly released “Ghost, their debut single and, shortly after, the EP “Gold”. The record’s eponymous single reached number 27 on the Billboard Alternative Songs Chart and 45 on the Rock Airplay chart. Most noteworthy, it featured in an Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag trailer, which brought massive exposure to the trio. Later, a remix of “Gold” also featured in a Cadillac commercial. Following up on that success, Sir Sly released their debut full-length album, “You Haunt Me“, in the fall of 2014, through Interscope Records. In 2017, the trio released a new single, titled “High“.
