Russ Vitale, simply known as Russ, is a young American rapper, songwriter, and producer. His most popular single is What They Want, which reached the Billboard Hot 100. He is a member of the rap group Diemon Crew.
Russ was born in New Jersey but is of Sicilian ancestry. He moved frequently during his childhood. At the age of 7, he was already writing lyrics and, after 7 years, he began composing full songs. He recorded his first song at the age of eighteen. His trademark is represented by his different-colored eyes.
Career & Style
Russ claimed G-Unit, 50 Cent and Eminem as his musical inspirations. Before his 2016 breakthrough, the young artist released 8 mixtapes, between 2011 and 2014. Eventually, he got discovered by Columbia Records. Therefore, he released his first commercially successful single, titled What They Want. The song reached number 83 on the US Billboard Hot 100. Consequently, he released several more singles: Pull the Trigger, We Just Haven’t Met Yet, Overdue, Psycho Pt. 2 and The Journey. None of them, however, gained much recognition. In the summer of 2016, he was accused of plagiarizing the video he produced for the song The Fib by Polish electronic duo Rysy. Russ’ latest release is the song Ain’t Nobody Takin’ My Baby.
