Rixton is a British pop rock band formed in 2012. They became famous due to their debut single Me and My Broken Heart.
Early Career
Jacke Roche (vocalist) and Danny Wilkin (bass & keyboard) formed the group and later recruited Charley Bagnall (lead guitar) and Lewi Morgan (drums). Initially, the band gained some recognition by posting their songs on Youtube, most covers from popular hits. After their cover of Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas attracted record producer Braun, the boys moved to New york to work on their debut EP and album.
Let the Road
Rixton gained more attention with their song Make Out, in which the members are mocking famous 2013 music videos like Wrecking Ball, Roar, Applause, Blurred Lines. The band’s debut single came out in 2014. Me and My Broken Heart reached charts from Australia, Sweden, and the US. Moreover, it peaked at number 1 in the UK and received a gold certification. Following on that success, the band released their first EP. During that period, they also performed at various music festivals, including SXSW where they shared the stage with Justin Bieber. Short after that came their The Broken Heart Tour. Rixton released their first album, Let the Road, in 2015.
