Rascal Flatts is an American country music band, enclosing members Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus, and Joe Don Rooney.
Early Formation
The band got its start in a bar in Nashville. Cousins Demarcus and LeVox joined forces and Rooney was invited for a gig with them. The chemistry was there so they abandoned other projects and formed Rascal Flatts in the late ’90s.
Career Beginnings
Rascal Flatts were able to get a record deal with Lyric Street Records and released their self-titled album in 2000. The album spawned their first major hit Prayin’ for Daylight. After 4 more singles at Top Ten, the band released the second effort called, Melt in 2002.
Breakthrough
It was a huge hit, spawning the group’s first number 1 hit These Days. As a result, their status as a successful act was solidified gaining a young following. Two years later followed the chart-topping LP Feels Like Today and Me and My Gang arrived in 2006. The 2007 Still Feels Good became platinum certified and spawned the number 1 hit Take Me There. After Unstoppable, issued in 2009, their record label was dissolved and Rascal Flatts signed to Big Machine Records. The 7th album Nothing Like This was thankfully another accomplishment due to Natasha Bedingfield duet Easy. Changed arrived in 2012 and Banjo was the hit single.
