Jasmine Thompson is British singer-songwriter who knew success after uploading videos of her singing on YouTube.

Early Life

Jasmine Ying Thompson was born in London, the United Kingdom on 8th of November 2000. At 13 she began posting videos of herself singing songs of artists like Taylor Swift.

Career Beginnings

In 2013 she released her debut album Bundle of Tantrums including her versions of singles like La La La, Let Her Go and Titanium. The same year she did a cover of Chaka Khan’s Ain’t Nobody which managed to peak at number 32 on the UK Singles Chart. Jasmine released an EP called Under the Willow Tree which spawned the single Run. The song encountered some success in Europe and the United States.

Success

The following year, Thompson released her sophomore LP Another Bundle of Tantrums. She started collaborating with various dance and EDM artists like DJ and producer Robin Schulz. Jasmine was featured on his song Sun Goes Down and became a hit. In 2015 she was signed to Atlantic Records and headed for the US to collaborate with songwriters Jesse Shatkin and Emily Warren. The single Adore was the result of that partnership. The EP of the same name was released later that year. DJ Felix Jaehn released a remix of Ain’t Nobody version of Thompson’s which became an international hit all over Europe. From that point on Jasmine released 15 more singles from various collaborations with Hugel and Eden Prince.
