Fake Shark Biography

Fake Shark’s most recent lineup consists of Kevvy Mental, Louis Wu and Tony Dallas. Kevvy and Louis founded the band while in high school. After graduation, they searched for members through Craigslist.

Early Years

Due to their MySpace fame, they signed with Vinyl Junkie Records. This label released their debut album Zebra! Zebra! in 2007. They toured and performed in countries like UK and Japan. Next in their calendar was the album Meeting People Is Terrible (2009). It garnished the two singles “Angel Lust” and “Siamese Disease”. The album also came with a bonus single, a cover of “Sour Times”, originally by Portishead.

Further Career

The 2013 album got the name Liar. It was produced with the help of artists such as Kevin James Maher and Greig Nori.

In 2017, Fake Shark release the single “Heart 2 Heart” to tease the upcoming album Faux Real. “There are lyrics on the new record that are so personal I squirm in my seat when people hear them. I had an emotional year and so have people dear to me, so I have more to say than ever on this new one,” Kevvy explained in an interview with Canadian Beats.
