You Can Cry Tomorrow - Betty Who

Album: The Valley

genre: Pop Synthpop

It’s 5 PM, you’re still in bed
Get outta your head, this isn’t the end
You took a hit, let’s burn his shit
Get off of the ledge, it’s time to pretend

I bought a bottle of Moscato
You’ll be drunk until tomorrow
Girl, I know you’re broken-hearted
Rip it out and we’ll restart it

I got you right now, I’m holding you down
You’ll never be alone, never on your own
I know it’s been hard to fight the worst part
So dance with me tonight, baby, you can cry
Tomorrow
Tomorrow

It’s 5 AM, our money’s spent
Keepin’ it cool, you’re looking brand new (hey)
Beauty queen, why can’t you see
They’re looking at you? A beautiful view

Honey, they just hit the lotto
‘Cause you’re back out on the prowl
Girl, I know you’re broken-hearted
Rip it out and we’ll restart it

I got you right now, I’m holding you down
You’ll never be alone, never on your own
I know it’s been hard to fight the worst part
So dance with me tonight, baby, you can cry
Tomorrow
Tomorrow
Baby, you can cry, tomorrow
Tomorrow
Baby, you can cry

If it gets heavy, I’ll be ready (heavy, ready)
You’ll never feel lonely again (never feel lonely)
‘Cause if you feel it, there’s a reason (I feel it, a reason)
And we all need some help now and then (Now and then, yeah)
I got you right now, I’m holding you down

I got you right now, I’m holding you down
You’ll never be alone, never on your own
I know it’s been hard to fight the worst part
So dance with me tonight, baby, you can cry
Tomorrow (tomorrow, tomorrow)
Tomorrow (tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow)
Baby, you can cry tomorrow (tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow)
Tomorrow (tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow)

The Valley Danzig album lyrics
Betty Who told The Independent: "This is one of the only songs I’ve ever written about a girlfriend of mine…[She] seems to always end up dating the 'wrong guy' (I think we all have those friends) and it drives all of us so crazy because she’s so beautiful and perfect and she keeps getting walked all over by these not very nice men. So this song was sort of my ode to her and everybody like her, honoring the goddess that she is and pledging my never ending love for her."
