Human Touch - Betty Who

Album: The Valley

genre: Pop Synthpop

Good love is so hard to find
We got it right for a while
Do you get lonely at night?
We don’t have to go home
We don’t have to go

Low lights, cold nights, remember when?
I call you every now and then
So good, that on and off again
And on again

Oh, why don’t you come over?
Baby, be close to me, just like you used to be
Oh, one more night to hold ya
We don’t have to call it love, we just need a human touch
We don’t have to call it love, we just need a human touch

I always loved how you kiss
And I’m overdue for a fix
Just with a touch of your lips
I want you to come home
I want you to come home

Low lights, cold nights, remember when?
I call you every now and then
So good, that on and off again
And on again

Oh, why don’t you come over?
Baby, be close to me, just like you used to be
Oh, one more night to hold ya
We don’t have to call it love, we just need a human touch (Yeah, yeah, yeah)
We don’t have to call it love, we just need a human touch

Baby, I love how we love in the in-between
Baby, I love how it feels when you’re holding me
Baby, I love how we love in the in-between
Baby, I love it, I love it
Oh, why don’t you come over?
Baby, be close to me, just like you used to be

Oh, why don’t you come over?
Baby be close to me, just like you used to be
Oh, one more night to hold ya
We don’t have to call it love, we just need a human touch
We don’t have to call it love, we just need a human touch

We don’t have to call it love, we just need a human touch

Betty Who said about "Human Touch": "It was about this experience I had…When you’re in a relationship with somebody and that relationship ends, you’ll always live in this weird middle ground where you used to be the closest person in the world to this ex—but now you’re not anymore. It’s real to me, and I’m talking about when I got together with an ex-boyfriend for a week after everything between us had ended for a while. It felt universal enough for me to write about. ‘Human Touch’ is the introduction to that new version of myself I’ve found in the last couple of years.”

Betty Who told The Independent: "I’ll be honest, I actually didn’t like this song when we wrote it. Which is crazy now cause it’s one of my favorite songs on the album, but initially I sort of backed away from it for a few months. It also took about 100 different versions of the song to land where it did in its final product, so I think that definitely didn’t help. Now performing it is the thing I look the most forward to during any show, so I guess that goes to show you I’m completely unpredictable."
