Zedd Biography

Born Anton Zaslavski on 2 September 1989, Zedd began playing piano at the age of two. Both of his parents are musicians and that had a great influence on him. His family moved to Germany when he was four and there he began singing for a deathcore band in 2002.

Career Beginnings

He took the stage name Zedd and began doing electronic music, winning two Beatport remix contests in 2010. He started growing a fanbase by remixing famous artists like Lady Gaga and Skrillex. In 2011 he released the single “Shave It Up”.

Take Off

Signing with Interscope Records, Zedd issued the single “Spectrum” follow by the album Clarity. The lead single, “Clarity” topped several charts. In this period he collaborated with artists like Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, Hayley Williams and Namie Amuro.

His second album True Colors enclosed singles such as “I Want You to Know”, “Beautiful Now” and “Papercut”. Next up he performed with Lady Antebellum at CMT Music Awards and then with artists like Daya and Macklemore for a benefit concert.

Achievements

Zedd won a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording with the singles “Clarity” featuring Foxes, an MTV Clubland Award with “Stay the night” featuring Hayley Williams, one Teen Choice Award, one Latin American Music Award and one Billboard Music Award for his second album.
