Zac Brown Band is an American country band that charted 16 singles on the Billboard’s Hot Country chart.

Early Formation

The band was put together by lead vocalist Zac Brown in 2002. Zac Brown Band performed 200 gigs in total the first year. The first lineup consisted of Zac as vocalist/acoustic guitarist and drummer/bass guitarist Marcus Petruska.

Career Beginnings

The band’s first independent album was Home Grown released in 2004. While touring he added violinist/tenor vocalist Jimmy De Martini and soon the band grew with the additions of bassist John Hopkins, guitarist/organist Coy Bowles, and drummer Chris Fryar.

Success and Touring

Their debut album The Foundation was eventually released under Atlantic Records in 2008. Chicken Fried the first single became a multi-platinum certified hit. Musician and songwriter Clay Cook joined the band the following year. They toured the album as well and were preparing their next project on the road. In 2010, the Zac Brown Band won the Grammy for Best New Artist. They released You Get What You Give and quickly hit the road to support the album. Percussionist Daniel de los Reyes joined the band and the new Uncaged LP was revealedThe record debuted at number 1 on Billboard 200 and spawned the top 10 hits Goodbye in Her Eyes, Sweet Annie, and Jump Right In. As of 2014, Matt Mangano was one of the bass guitaristsIn 2015, the lead single Homegrown was released from the upcoming album Jekyll + Hyde. The album was released later that year and topped the Billboard 200 chart.
