Years & Years Biography

Flamboyant and energetic, the three-man British band is currently riding the wave of the music scene with their singles.

Early Years

At first, Years & Years were a five-man band. Under this form, they released the single “I Wish I Knew” in 2012. Their next phase meant the departure of two members, so when they signed to the French label Kitsune, Years & Years meant Olly Alexander, Mikey Goldsworthy and Emre Turkmen.

Rebirth of Electropop

Following the song “Traps”, the band really hit it off with their third single, “Real”. Years & Years sealed the deal with “Take Shelter” that was number one on the iTunes UK Singles Electronic Chart and “Desire”.

The album Communion hit the markets under Polydor Records, in 2015. Not only that it was the fastest-selling debut album of an UK band, but its singles “Eyes Shut”, “Shine”, and “Kings” peaked at the top of the charts. The band was also featured in the film Bridget Jones’s Baby with their hit song “Meteorite”.

Achievements

Years and Years gained awards like Best New International Artist Act 2015 and Best New Artist Video for “King’s” music clip.
