William Orbit is an English musician, composer and record producer who has sold 200 million recordings worldwide.
William Orbit Biography
Born William Mark Wainwright on 15 December 1956, the English musician co-founded the electronic/synth group Torch Song.
Early Years
The group Torch Song enclosed Orbit, Laurie Mayer, Grant Gilbert and for a while, Neville Brody too. After being signed to IRS Records, the band issued hits for movies like “Bachelor Party” and “Youngblood”. Together with their two albums, Torch Song’s activity was blooming.
Further Career
William Orbit worked with artists like U2, Britney Spears, No Doubt, Ricky Martin, Queen, Sugababes and Beck. He also worked with Damon Albarn and his band, Blur. Orbit produced their album 13.
“Collaboration is how you learn your craft. I built this studio and ran it and learned a great deal from working with others. It gives you this wide experience of seeing how others operate in the music business”, Orbit declared for M Magazine.
William collaborated with Madonna on several occasions. He’s one of the men behind the album Ray of Light. “Masterpiece” and “Beautiful Stranger” are produced by him. Orbit issued two albums with
