Usher Biography

Born Usher Raymond IV, on October 14, 1978, he started singing in the church choir. He recorded with an R&B group and soon after he signed a contract with L.A. Reid, the co-founder of LaFace.

Early Career

Usher released his debut self-entitled album in 1994 and the album My Way three years later. 8701 (2001) enclosed singles such as “U Remind Me”, “U Got It Bad” and “U Don’t Have to Call”.

Rising Star

In 2014, he sold almost 20 million copies of the album Confessions and also was named “Artist of the Year” at the Billboard Music Awards. Usher got out the spectacular Raymond v. Raymond (2010) that won him the Grammy Award for best contemporary R&B album. The award came in a pair, him also winning the award for best male R&B performance with “There Goes My Baby”).

Awards & Late Years

After the 2010 success, he issued two more albums, Looking 4 Myself (2012) and Hard II Love (2016). Singles like “Climax”, “Scream” and “No Limit” topped the charts.

Out of 312 nominations, Usher won 126 awards up to now, including 18 Billboard Music Awards and 8 Grammy Awards.
