TWO Biography

TWO is a Romanian house duo formed in 2014, by Mihai Gruia and Sorin Brotnei Stefan. The two have been part of the iconic 2000s boy-band Akcent until 2013.

Musical Background

Mihai and Sorin began their musical journey in 2001, as members of the platinum-certified dance pop band Akcent. The band was initially formed in 1998 as a duo, but I didn’t meet stardom until it reached the 4-boys formula: Adrian Sînă, Marius Nedelcu, Mihai Gruia and Sorin Brotnei. The group’s first release, Ti-am Promis (I Promised You), was a massive hit. Notably, Akcent represented Romania at Eurovision with the number 1 single, Jockero. Furthermore, the band gained international popularity with the English version of the singles Kylie and Dragoste De Inchiriat, which reached several European charts.

In 2014, Mihai Gruia and Sorin Brotnei decided to pursue a different path. Apart from creating TWO, the duo founded their own record label, Mango Records, through which they collaborate with many artists. In February of the same year, they released their first song, Spre Soare, which gained about 1 million views on Youtube. Moreover, in the spring of 2014, the two premiered their first English language single, Fall In Love. Their next single, Bora Bora, was written by Mihai while in Ibiza. The year concluded with a collaboration with LORA, on the single C`est La Vie.

In 2015, TWO made their international breakthrough with the single Angel, featuring Kaya Jones (Pussycat Dolls). The song reached the top 10 in various countries, gaining critical acclaim. Additionally, the duo released an English version of their debut single (Spre Soare), titled Regrets. The song became most noteworthy popular on Shazam. In 2016, TWO released a couple of catchy club songs, Lady Lady and Yalla Habibi, but also a slow, love ballad, Vinovat. Additionally, they collaborated with Ruxandra Bar on her single Casablanca. Currently, TWO are touring in the Middle East.
