Todrick Hall Biography

Todrick Hall is an American singer, actor, dancer and YouTuber who received praise as a Broadway and YouTube star.

Early Life

Todrick was born in Arlington, Texas on 4 April 1985 and began studying ballet at age 9. Later on, he performed on numerous stage shows.

American Idol

He auditioned for the 9th season of American Idol with his own original song. He made it, eventually, in the semi finals. Hall was eliminated in 2010 after the performance of Somebody to Love by Queen.

YouTube Career

Todrick joined YouTube in 2006, his next career move based a lot around his singing, acting, dance choreography, and directing. He began releasing videos impersonating famous musicians in a flash mob music video format. He was not fond of the idea of the conventional album or EP through a record label. As a result, he focused solely on his YouTube creation which soon turned into viral sesnsations. Hall’s YouTube channel now has more than 2 million subscribers.

Opportunities

Thanks to his popularity he landed a starring role and songwriting role for a pop music video made by Virgin America. Moreso he was invited as a judge on RuPaul’s All Stars Drag Race and got his own MTV documentary series called Todrick. In 2013 he released a Christmas record Dear Santa and his first visual album Straight Outta Oz in 2016. Toddrick supported the LP with a tour in late 2016.
