Snakehips Biography

Snakehips are a British electronic music duo that encloses the members Oliver Lee and James Carter.

Early Career

Multi-instrumentalist Oliver Lee met James Carter in 2012 in Hong Kong and they bonded quite fast and soon after they agreed on working together. Their debut single “Days with You” saw the light of day in 2014. Following up, the EP

“It was super random. I can’t remember how we even started talking. It turned out James lived near me in London and when we left we were on the same plane together by pure coincidence. Once we got back, we decided to start making beats together“, Lee declared for The Guardian.

Their debut single “Days with You” saw the light of day in 2014. Following up, the EP Forever, Pt. II was issued in 2015.

Breakthrough

Their musical gem was released in the fall of 2015 and it was entitled “All My Friends”. Collaborating with singer Tinashe the hip-hop artist Chance the Rapper, Snakehips made their single climb to the 5th place on the UK Singles Chart.

They also collaborated with artists like Zayn, Anderson Paak and MØ. The single featuring MØ, “Don’t Leave” is becoming popular really fast.
