Slim Jxmmi Biography

Aaquil Brown, known as Slim Jxmmi, is an American rapper, known as part of the popular duo Rae Sremmurd. The duo released a platinum album, 2015’s SremmLife, which topped numerous charts. Both Slim Jxmmi and his brother, Swan Lee, also pursued solo careers and featuring on major hits.

Rae Sremmurd

The hip-hop duo formed in Tupelo, Mississipi, in 2009. Their debut album, SremmLife came out in early 2015 and received immense acclaim. It debuted at number 5 on the Billboard 200 and topped the R&B/Hip-Hop and Rap charts. Moreover, all its singles were extremely successful, notably the triple-platinum No Type. One year later, they released their second album, SremmLife 2. It spawned a 5x Platinum single, Black Beatles, featuring Gucci Mane. The song topped the Hot 100 chart and brought them instant fame. Rae Sremmund is currently recording for their third album, titled SremmLife 3.

Solo

The 23-year rapper has also done solo work. In 2015 he appeared on Rich The Kid’s Championship and Yung Joey’s Dat Pack (remix). Additionally, he featured on K Camp’s Free Money (2017) and Drag (2016). Most noteworthy, he collaborated with Juicy J on his 2017 hit Gimme Gimme. Recently, he provided vocals for Dice SoHo’s Going Up. He is also known for his strong political views, as he created the #ImpeachDonaldTrumpChallenge.
