Shawn Hook Biography

Shawn Hlookoff, known professionally as Shawn Hook, is a Canadian singer-songwriter and producer. He made his international breakthrough by collaborating with Vanessa Hudgens on his single Reminding Me. Additionally, he is passionate about charity, having founded an organisation called “Feed The Need”.

Early Life

Shawn was born in 1984 in South Slocan, British Columbia, Canada. He began taking piano lessons when he was four. During high school, he played piano and trombone. Furthermore, he started songwriting and recording his music. He was briefly part of a cover band called Shag. Moreover, he studied audio engineering and The Art Institute in Vancouver. After that, he released an independent album, called Both Sides (2006).

Breakthrough 

In 2008 he signed with ABC Studios and moved to L.A. During that period, he appeared on Good Morning America and released Without You, which was included in MTV’s The Hills. Additionally, he landed a guest role in Fox TV’s Bones. In  2012 he released his first commercial album, Cosmonaut and the Girl. It spawned two singles with local success, So Close and Every Red Light. In 2014, he released a holiday single, Million Ways, which gained massive acclaim in Canada. One year later, his next album Analog Love came out. The record spawned a platinum-certified single, Sound of Your Heart. The song peaked at number 24 on the Billboard Pop Songs chart.
