Set It Off Biography

Set It Off is a Tampa-based American rock band formed in 2008. It currently consists of Cody Carson, Maxx Danziger, Dan Clermont, and Zach DeWall.

Early Formation

High school and marching band friends, Cody Carson and Dan Clermont formed the band with Austin M. Kerr and Zach Dewall. Maxx Danziger was added as the drummer to the line-up.

Career Beginnings

The band’s first project was the EP Baby, You Don’t Tripajaharda followed by theCalm Before the Storm. Set It Off was signed to Equal Vision Records and released the EP Horrible Kids which entered the iTunes Top 100 Alternative Albums chart. Cinematics, the debut album was revealed in 2012 debuting at number 4 on Billboard’s Top Heatseekers and number 38 on the Independent Albums charts. The following year, the band released the Christmas-themed compilation album Punk Goes Christmas. 

Rising Popularity

In 2013 they joined Yellowcard on a European tour. In 2014, they began working on a new album called Duality, which was released the same year. In addition, they joined the Black Veil Brides band on a headlining American tour. The following year, Austin Kerr was kicked out of the band due to allegations of sexual assault and misconduct with minors. They embarked on their own tour called the Vans Warped Tour. In 2016 they returned with a new album titled Upside Down. The album’s success managed to raise sales for their previous LP Duality, in one week.
