Sean Paul Biography

Sean Paul is a Jamaican hip-hop recording artist, musician, producer and actor.

Early Years

Born Sean Paul Ryan Francis Henriques, on 9 January 1973, he played for the national polo team of Jamaica for 8 years.

Sean Paul was playing at a small open mic event in Kingston when producer Jeremy Harding heard him. After they met there, the collaboration started and Paul issued his debut album Stage One under VP Records.

Fame and Glory

His second album Dutty Rock that enclosed singles Gimme the Light and Get Busy sold over 6 million copies worldwide and created a huge fanbase for the Jamaican.

The hits that were on everybody’s lips in 2005, “We Be Burnin”, Give It Up to Me” and “Ever Blazin” were all part of Sean’s third album, The Trinity.

The Next Three Albums

The 20 track album Imperial Blaze was followed by the Tomahawk Technique, that spawned the iconic hits “She Doesn’t Mind” and “Got 2 Luv U”. The latter achieved great success in Switzerland.

Sean Paul collaborated with artists such as Damien Marley, Iggy Azalea, Nicki Minaj for his album Full Frequency that got out on 18 February 2014.  The artist got another grip of worldwide recognition in 2016 with the remixed version of “Cheap Thrills”, featuring Sia. Sean issued the single “No Lie” with Dupa Lipa in the fall of 2016.
