Pia Mia Biography

Pia Mia is an American singer-songwriter who started off as a Youtuber, singing, posting and sharing videos.

Early Life

A descent of the Chamorro, Italian, Dutch, and Hungarian line, Pia Mia Perez was born on September 19, 1996, in Guam, United States.

Career Beginnings 

A die hard fan of Beyonce, Maria Carey, and Michael Jackson Pia would upload videos of herself on Youtube singing. She eventually caught the attention of Chris’s Brown’s manager, Abou Thaim. A cover version of Drake’s Hold On, We’re Going Home along with producer Nic Nac, catapulted her to a new type of attention.

Growing Success

Under the major label Interscope, she released her first EP The Gift in 2014. While working on her debut album, she released Do It Again as the lead single. Featured by Chris Brown and Tyga, it proved to be Mia’s first charting song, peaking at number 8 in the UK top 40. Her following single was Touch, released the same year.
