Old Dominion Biography

Old Dominion is an American country band that mixes contemporary country with some rock instrumentation and pop or hip-hop overtones.

Early Formation

The band members Matthew Ramsey the lead singer, Trevor Rosen the guitarist\keyboardist, Whit Sellers the drummer, Geoff Sprung the bassist, and Brad Tursi the guitarist got together in Nashville in 2007.

Early Career

Old Dominion was confident in their songwriting skills with Ramsey, Rosen, and Tursi at the helm who have worked with artists like Keith Urban, Luke Bryan, Dierks Bentley, Chris Young, and Craig Morgan. Their first song as a band was Dirt on a Road and Shut Me Up which received a lot of radio play and attention.

Success

Old Dominion released their self-titled debut EP in 2014. In addition, they got a record deal with RCA Records. Becuase of a Back to the Future-reference, their single Break Up with Him gained early notice in 2015. After the release of their debut album Meat and Candy, the single eventually reached number 1 on Billboard’s Country Airplay charts. The second single Snapback reached number 2 on the Country Airplay chart in 2016. In 2017 they released the official lead single No Such Thing As A Broken Heart from Old Dominion’s upcoming second album.
