Motionless in White Biography

Motionless in White is an American metalcore band known for their dramatic and daunting gothic music style.

Early Formation

The band was formed in 2005, during high school by lead vocalist Chris “Motionless” Cerulli, drummer Angelo Parente, guitarist Frank Polumbo and bassist Kyle White. After self-distributing their demo, Motionless in White added keyboardist Josh Balz and guitarists Michael Costanza and Thomas “TJ” Bell.

Career Beginnings

Motionless in White was able to find management and a record label contract and released the debut EPThe Whorror. After a supporting tour, the band released a sophomore EP, When Love Met Destruction in 2008. Polumbo and Costanza left the band and were replaced by Ryan Sitkowski and Ricky Horror. In 2009, the group’s official single was Ghost in the Mirror. Abigail was revealed as the lead single from the debut album Creatures. It was their first chart entry album at number 6 on the Heatseekers chart. “TJ” Bell was fired due to schedule conflict and musical differences and was officially replaced by bassist Devin “Ghost” Sola in 2011.

Success

Devil’s Night and If It’s Dead, We’ll Kill It were issued as singles from Motionless in White’s third album, Infamous. The album reached number 9 on the Top Independent Albums and number 5 on Top Hard Rock Albums charts. Parente also left the band on amicable terms leaving Chris “Motionless” as the only original band member. Parente was officially replaced with drummer Brandon Richter in 2013. Motionless in White embarked on their first UK tour the same year followed by other another tour in 2014. Before the reveal of the band’s third album, Richter left the band on unknown but friendly terms. The quintet released Reincarnate in 2014, followed by a string of live performances and co-headlining tours with acts like A Day to Remember, Bring Me the Horizon and Chiodos. The single titled 570, was released in 2016 as a teaser for their upcoming album Graveyard Shift. After 10 years, Josh Balz left the band in 2017. During this time they released two more album tracks Eternally Yours and Rats.
