Milky Chance Biography
Milky Chance encloses the members Clemens Rehbein, Philipp Dausch and Antonio Greger. Rehbein and Dausch knew each other from school and were part of the band Flown Tones.
Early Years
When Flown Tones disbanded, Clemens and Philipp continued making music together. They recorded their debut album in a home studio. After Sadnecessary was finished, they uploaded songs on SoundCloud and Youtube. The single “Stolen Dance” became viral and propelled them worldwide. The album ended up hitting number 17 on the Billboard 200.
In 2014, Milky Chance played at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City. Soon after, they went on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. With the European Border Breakers Award in their pocket, they played at Coachella.
Next Album
For their next album, the band added Antonio Greger to their lineup. Blossom (2017) reached number 64 on the US Billboard 200 chart. It was supported only by the single Cocoon.
“It was last year while on tour in America. I don’t remember where we were exactly but we had just played at a festival and we were handing out backstage, thinking about the upcoming album. And we first came up with the idea because the song was already done called ‘Blossom’ and we were just talking about all the things that happened to us in the last two years – music wise – but also in our private lives. There were a lot of things blossoming, kind of, and it felt perfect.” This declaration was given by Clemens Rehbein when asked by Baeble Music about their album title.
