Maroon 5 Biography
Maroon 5 is an American pop rock band from Los Angeles, California. They are best known for singles like “Payphone”, “One More Night”, “Wake Up Call”, and “This Love”.
Kara’s Flowers
Adam Levine, Jesse Carmichael, Mickey Madden and Ryan Dusick are the four original members of the band, though Maroon 5 was at first known as Kara’s Flowers and it was put together in 1994 while the members were in high school. After they self-released the album We Like Digging?, they signed to Reprise Records and issued The Fourth World in 1997. The second album wasn’t so well perceived and they took a break from music and attended college.
The New Age
Kara’s Flowers became Maroon 5 in 2001 when they welcomed a member, guitarist James Valentine. He declared: “I became friends with them and we sort of started jamming together, it was very much like I was cheating on my band, we were having sort of an affair and I eventually quit my other band to join up with them.”
Their first album under the new name was titled Songs About Jane and its lead single “Harder to Breathe” got the album to number six on the Billboard 200 chart. The second single, “This Love” peaked at No.3 in the UK. The third one, “She Will Be Loved” reached number one in Australia.
“We Just Do What Feels Right”
Maroon 5 reached No. 1 in 2007 with their second album It Won’t Be Soon Before Long on the US Billboard 200 chart and with its lead single, “Makes Me Wonder” on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. Their next albums, Hands All Over and Overexposed consolidated their position in the music world. In the fall of 2015, the band released an album with their greatest hits, called Singles.
