Lord Huron is an American indie folk and rock band. They became famous due to their many features in TV series and movies. The name of the band came from Lake Huron, which the founder, Ben Schneider (vocals, guitar) used to visit frequently to build campfires and play music.
Albums
The group released their debut album, Lonesome Dreams, in 2012. It reached number 3 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums. “Lonesome Dreams was kind of this series of old adventure tales.” commented the band’s frontman. Furthermore, Lord Huron released a series of music videos, inspired by the 70s western movies. Their second album, Strange Trails, came out in 2015. It debuted at number 23 on the Billboard 200 and topped the Folk Albums chart.
Appearances in Pop Culture
HBO used songs from Lord Huron twice. First, Fool for Love was included in the series Girls, Season 5 Episode 1. Next up, Lonesome Dreams featured on Togetherness, Season 1 Episode 7. In the movie Freeheld from 2015, the song Louisa was used for a western dance scene. Moreover, Ends of the Earth was used in the series Shameless, Man Seeking Woman and Community. It also appears in the movies Endless Love (2014) and Walking With Dinosaurs (2013). Finally, A Walk in the Woods (2015) included no less than five of Lord Huron’s songs.
