London Grammar Biography

London Grammar is an English trio that combines electronic pop with the dramatic and strong voice of Hannah Reid.

Early Formation

Hannah Reid and guitarist Dan Rothman while at university in Nottingham. They began writing music in 2009 and were later joined by multi-instrumentalist Dot Major.

Career

Performing in front of audiences as small as ten people, they began working on their sound and refine it with electronic tones. Along with the release of the track, Hey Now they quickly found a following on social media in 2012. London Grammar’s debut EP Metal & Dust was released for UK fans and Australian fans, ultimately topping the digital charts.

Sucess

Under the representation of Ministry of Sound Records, they made their first official release with Wasting My Young Years. In 2013, they were lucky enough to have a sold-out show at the Islington Assembly Hall. The made some appearances at the Great Escape Festival in Brighton. The same year, the trio finally released the debut album If You Wait. The album was the 5th best-selling LP of 2014. They won 2 awards at the Independent Music Awards in 2014. In 2017 they released their first release in 4 years with the single Rooting For You. After a month they released the second single Big Picture.
