Symere Woods, known by the stage name Lil Uzi Vert, is an American rapper and songwriter. He gained fame after releasing his first single Money Longer. Furthermore, he released numerous mixtapes, most noteworthy: Luv is Rage, Lil Uzi Vert vs. the World and The Perfect Luv Tape. He also had many collaborations with other rappers, notably being featured on Migos‘ hit song Bad and Boujee.
Career Beginnings
Upon being head by Don Cannon, Uzi Vert signed a deal with DJ Drama, Don Cannon, and Leighton Morrison‘s record label Generation Now and Atlantic Records. In 2015, the young rapper gained some attention due to his feature on Carnage’s single WDWY, along with ASAP Ferg and Rich The Kid. He proceeded by releasing his 3rd mixtape, Luv is Rage. He collaborated with Wiz Khalifa and Young Thug. In 2016, Lil Uzi Vert released his fourth mixtape Lil Uzi Vert vs. the World. Furthermore, he reached XXL’s 2016 Freshmen top 10. Breakthrough
He released his fifth mixtape, The Perfect Luv Tape (2016), on his 22nd birthday. This time he collaborated with famous rapper Future on the song Seven Million. The mixtape made it into both US Billboard 200 and US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts. Later that year, he was featured on the single Bad and Boujee by rap group Migos. The song marked Uzi Vert’s first appearance on the US Billboard Hot 100.
