Lee Brice Biography

Lee Brice is an American country singer-songwriter, who has had 4 singles at number 1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs and on Country Airplay charts.

Early Life

Kenneth Mobley Brice, Jr. was born in Sumter, South Carolina on June 10, 1979. Growing up he played piano and guitar, sang and was a songwriter. Lee was a footballer in high school but focused on music after an arm injury.

Career Beginnings

In 2007 he began writing songs for artist like Jason Aldean and Keith Gattis and co-writing for Garth Brooks’s More Than a Memory. The same year he was signed to Curb Records as a recording artist and released the debut album Picture of Me. The LP did not perform very well, so Brice resumed songwriting professionally in 2008. His 2009 single Love Like Crazy was in the charts and stayed there for a year, finally peaking at number 3 on Billboard’s Country. It finally got platinum certification. The album of the same name was not a hit as expected but the single did create a solid start point for Lee.

Success

In 2011 he came back with the album Hard 2 Love and the hit single A Woman Like You. The single was his first number 1, followed by a number of top 10 songs like Hard to Love, I Drive Your Truck and Parking Lot Party. Thanks to those singles, the album Hard 2 Love was certified gold. Next was the self-produced project I Don’t Dance in 2014. The LP debuted at number 1 on the Billboard Country and number 5 on Billboard Top 200.
