After gaining local recognition due to her role in the soap opera Neighbours, Kylie Minogue picked up singing. Her very first single, The Locomotion, was a massive success, topping the singles charts. Most noteworthy, it ranked as number 3 on the US Billboard Hot 100. Her next single, I Should Be So Lucky helped spread her fame throughout Europe. It is also one of her most broadcasted songs to date. Therefore, Kylie received two ARIA awards. The next decade after the two iconic albums was uneventful. It was already 2001 when Kylie made another impact on the music industry. Her album Fever, a combination of electro and synthpop, topped charts from all over the world. The lead single, Can’t Get You Out of My Head, became the biggest success of her career. Overall, the album strengthened Kylie Minogue’s position in the mainstream US market. Another one of the singles, Come into My World, brought her a Grammy Award in 2003. Later that year, Kylie released her 9th album, Body Language, which had an 80s disco style. It didn’t sell as well as its predecessor but it contained massively popular singles like Slow, Red Blooded woman and Chocolate. Furthermore, 2004 came with a highly-successful greatest hits compilation, which yielded two singles: I Believe in You and Giving You Up.
