Kyla La Grange is a British indie pop singer-songwriter, hailing from Watford. She debuted in 2011 with the album “Ashes” which included a cover of The Maccabees’ song “Love You Better”.

Early Life & “Ashes”

Kyla was born in 1986, in Watford, England. She studied philosophy at the Pembroke College, Cambridge from 2004 to 2007. In 2012 she released her debut album, “Ashes”. The record was produced at 123 Studios in East London and all songs except for the cover were written by Kyla. The album spawned 4 singles: “Been Better”, “Heavy Stone”, “Vampire Smile” and “Walk Through Walls”. Additionally, the song “Catalyst” featured in CW’s Beauty & the Beast.

“Cut Your Teeth” & Recent Years

The British singer’s second album, “Cut Your Teeth” came out in the summer of 2014 and presented a more minimalistic electronica-influenced sound. It generated 2 singles, “The Knife” and the title single. “Cut Your Teeth” became Kyla’s most commercially successful song, peaking at number 15 on the US Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart. One year later, she released 2 more singles, “So Sweet” and “Skin”. In 2016, another couple of singles made it into the market, “Hummingbird” and Justify”. Finally, in 2017, she released “Love Harder“.
