Kip Moore Biography

Born Kip Christian Moore on 1 April 1980, he played in public for the first time at a restaurant in Georgia.

Breakthrough

Moore graduated from college and moved to Hawaii, then to Nashville. He lived there 8 years before signing a deal with MCA Nashville. The first single he released, “Mary Was the Marrying Kind”, reached number 45 on the Billboard US Country Singles chart.

Kip’s second single “Somethin’ Bout a Truck” climbed all the way to No. 1 on the Billboard country charts. His debut album Up All Night (2012) received 4/5 stars from Taste of Country. Wild Ones (2015), the second album, encloses the singles “I’m to Blame” and “Running for You”. This album was placed 6th by Rolling Stone magazine on the 40 Best Country Albums of 2015 top.

Personal View

I try to be authentic in everything I do because I never want to put on another hat, Moore declared in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine. “And it bites me in the ass sometimes. People will say, ‘If you do a collaboration with this pop or R&B act, you’ll get to play on this show.’ No. It’s not like I dislike what the other artist does, it just doesn’t fit with that I do. I don’t want to go up there and do some song and dance and play some character just to get a couple million people to see me on TV. I’ll just do it the hard way.
