Early Life
Brian Todd Collins was born in Los Angeles, California on April 1, 1986. He first started off by making music and experimenting with music during his teens. Brian started taking rapping seriously at age 22.
Career Beginnings
Under the moniker Rockstar, he released his first mixtape World Tour in 2010. The following year he revealed a second mixtape Crash Landing under his now known stage name, Kid Ink. The projects featured appearances with MCs like Roscoe Dash, Ty Dolla Sign, and Meek Mill.
Success
The first major breakthrough arrived with the release of Kid’s first studio album Up & Away, debuting at number 20 on US’s Billboard 200. This time the album did not feature any other artists, allowing Kid to a have an undisturbed flow. The LP was also charted at number 3 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums on Billboard. My Own Lane, his second mixtape was released 2014 under the record label RCA. With the release of the main single Body Language featured by Usher and Tinashe, the Full Speed LP was introduced. The project reached number 14 on Billboard 200. Soon followed another album as Summer in the Winter in 2015. Kid Ink, revealed a mixtape in 2016, as RSS2.
