Kane Brown is an American country music singer-songwriter that came to the attention of the public through social media and The X-Factor.

Early Life

Kane Brown was born in Georgia on October 21, 1993. His family moved a lot while he was young and attended several schools as a result. Brown was part of the church choir and grew up listening to country music and R&B.

Career Beginnings

Kane auditioned for American Idol and The X-Factor and was accepted by the latter in 2013. He left the show after he refused to join a boy band, an idea that the show’s producers presented to him. He began posting covers of various songs online and started gaining attention thanks to George Strait’s Check Yes or No cover.

Success

The cover went viral, amassing 7 million views. His own single Don’t Go City on Me went viral after its release in 2014. Kane’s first ever EP Closer was released in 2015. It debuted at position 22 on the Top Country Albums chart. He then released several singles like Used To Love You Sober and Last Minute Late Night that further exposed him on the radio. Brown was the opening act for the band Florida Georgia Line on their 2016 Dig Your Roots Tour. The same year he was signed to the RCA Nashville label and issued the second EP Chapter 1. The EP performed well on the charts by debuting at number 9 on Billboard 200, and number 3 on the Top Country Albums chart. A few months later Kane presented the lead single Ain’t No Stopping Us Now from his upcoming debut album. He embarked on a US tour and revealed the self-titled LP which debuted at number 10 on Billboard 200.
