Joshua Otis “Josh” Turner is a Grammy-nominated American country singer and actor. He released 6 albums, all of which reached top 5 on the US Country Albums chart and several successful singles. Moreover, he won six Inspirational Country Music Awards.
Breakthrough
Turner made his big breakthrough in 2001, after performing Long Black Train, at the Grand Ole Opry. He created massive hype and was asked for an encore. Following up on that success, Turner released his debut album in 2003. It was titled after the preceding hit, which reached number 13 on the Hot Country Songs chart. The album itself peaked at number 3 on the U.S. Billboard Top Country Albums chart.
Success & Recent Years
The artist’s next album, Your Man, came out in 2006. It became more popular than the previous record, topping the Country Albums chart. Additionally, it went 2x platinum and spawned two number 1 singles, the title track and Would You Go with Me. In 2012 and 2017, Josh Turner released two more chart-topping albums, Punching Bag and Deep South. The latter reached top 20 on the Billboard 200 and generated the top 10 single Hometown Girl.
