George Ezra is an English singer-songwriter and musician.

Born George Ezra Barnett on 7 June 1993, the young artist studied at the British and Irish Modern Music Institute.
Powerful Breakthrough
Ezra issued his debut EP in the fall of 2013. Did You Hear the Rain? was featured by MTV, BBC, Vevo and iTunes. The wonder hit “Budapest” topped the charts in several countries. After supporting artists like Bastille and Sam Smith, he issued his second EP Cassy O’.
George released his debut album Wanted on Voyage in 2014. It peaked at number three and later on, at number one on the UK Albums Chart. The British artist supported Robert Plant at the Glastonbury Abbey Extravaganza in the same year. In 2015 Ezra opened for Sam Smith and toured with Hozier.
Influences and Personal View
The young musician declared that his main musical influences are Bob Dylan and Woody Guthrie. Through Dylan, he started listening to Lead Belly and Howlin’ Wolf.
He also appreciates Alex Turner from Arctic Monkeys and Last Shadow Puppets. In an interview for Independent, Ezra declared about him: “He’s appreciated for his lyrics. He’s released, what, five albums now? And still I never see his face in papers. You don’t ever hear what he’s up to, and I think that’s cool. ”
