Founder of the Cocaine City Records, French Montana is an American singer and rapper.
Early Life
Karim Kharbouch was born in Rabat, Morocco on November 9, 1984. After 13 years he moved with his family in The Bronx, New York City. He found himself as the sole bread winner in his family after his father moved back to Morocco.
Cocaine City Records
Starting off as a battle rapper, French created his own record label Cocaine City Records in 2002. He did this to show his talent as an underground artist. He would interview big or small names and develop a successful street DVD series.
Success as a Performer
In 2009, French started releasing his own material with other DJs, rappers, and producers. He got the attention from major label records and signed a deal venture with Bad Boy and Maybach Music in 2011. French’s debut single was released as Pop That, followed by his debut album Excuse My French in 2013. In 2016 he revealed to the world a few R&B influenced mixtapes. The mixtape that stood out, however, was Casino Life 2: Brown Bag Legend. Moses featuring Chris Brown and Migos was his first hit.
