Filous Biography

Born Matthias Oldofredi on 4 March 1997, Filous launched himself using the internet music platform SoundCloud. The young Austrian’s stage name is a French word that means “rascal.”

Breakthrough

His first internet release was a remix of Damien Jurado’s “Ohioon ” on SoundCloud. Following up, he remixed songs like Kodaline’s “High Hopes” and Milky Chance’s “Flashed Junk Mind”. The songs have 8 million plays and respectively, 13 million plays.

His single “How Hard I Try” featuring James Hersey reached number 7 in Belgium. He covered famous songs like “Let It Snow” and “Feel Good Inc”.

Dawn and Personal View

Filous’ debut EP is called Dawn and was issued in 2015. He declared in an interview with Northern Transmissions: “The whole progress in working on the ep was really exciting for me. It was a whole different thing than releasing remixes. It was kinda more frightening. I was just nervous to be putting an album out of original material and showing the stuff that only I was working on or at least that I was a bigger part of.”

In December 2016, he released on his Youtube Channel a simple, repetitive music video for the cover of “Let It Snow”.
