Carlos Efrén Reyes Rosado, known professionally as Farruko, is a singer-songwriter from Puerto Rico.
Farruko Biography
Born Carlos Efren Rosado on 2 May 1991, Farruko started working on his music when he was 15. Like many early-2000s artists, he got famous through his MySpace account.
First Years
Farruko raved the charts with the singles “No Me Atrevo” and “Cositas Raras”, his music debut. In 2010 he released El Talento Del Bloque. It was followed by The Most Powerful Rookie in 2012. He got nominated for the Latin Grammy Award for Best Urban Music Album in the same year.
Further Career
With his fresh style and strong collaborations with artists such as Daddy Yankee and J Alvarez, Farruko rose to fame with ease. He released in 2014 the album Farruko Presenta: Los Menores. It was lead by the single “Passion Whine”. Other singles are “La Nueva Gerencia”, “Salgo”, and “Lejos De Aqui”.
“The American market is very important. Any Latin artist would want to succeed here. There are a lot of Latinos listening to reggaeton here, and I think Americans would want to listen to it as well. I want to be the one to bring it to them,” Farruko said to the Chicago Tribune.
