Emily Warren is an American singer and award-winning songwriter. She is best known for the songs she has written for numerous pop artists, such as The Chainsmokers, Frenship, Sean Paul, Melanie Martinez, Little Mix and Shawn Mendes. In 2017, she made her solo debut with the single “Hurt By You”.
Early Life & Career
Emily was born in New York, in 1992. She grew up on the Upper West Side. She developed a passion for music from a young age and started a band, Emily Warren & the Betters. After that, she took up songwriting. Notably, the co-wrote Jessie J’s gold-certified single Masterpiece. Next up, she collaborated with Scot Harris on 4 tracks by Shawn Mendes and the top 3, triple platinum single Don’t Let Me Down, by The Chainsmokers and Daya. In 2015, she featured on The Chainsmokers’ single Until You Were Gone.
2016 – Present
“What excites me about this field is that pop music can be an incredibly powerful and crucial platform for influence and change”, declared the young artist. In 2016, Warren provided vocals for the popular hit Capsize, with Frenship. It reached number 78 in the US. Furthermore, she made her TV debut, on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, later during the same year. Additionally, she continued to write for The Chainsmokers and also featured as the lead vocalist on 2 tracks from the duo’s album Memories…Do Not Open. In May 2017, Warren released her debut solo single, Hurt By You.
