Early Life
The daughter of comedian Rob Schneider, Tanner Elle Schneider was born in L.A., California on July 3, 1989. At 13 she started playing guitar, listening to blues, rock, and jazz, then took on the banjo from country and bluegrass music.
Career
Elle debuted as an actress in her father’s movie “Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo”. After moving to New York she would perform all around the city, submerging herself in the songwriting scene. King was signed by RCA Records and later released the 2012 “The Elle King” EP. “Playing for Keeps” was chosen as the main single. Elle was named by “Esquire Magazine” and “Refinery 29” as “Artist to Watch in 2012”. She made several televised appearances and played at various festivals and concerts as the opening act.
Success
“Love Stuff” the debut album was released in 2015 and its single “Ex’s & Oh’s” became King’s first top 10 single in North America. She performed the single during the “The Today Show”. Following the success, she received 2 Grammy awards for “Best Rock Performance” and “Best Rock Song” in 2016. In addition, Elle performed “Different for Girls” joined by Dierks Bentley at the CMA Awards. As a result, they won the “Musical Event of the Year”.
