Gabriella Michelle “Ella” Henderson is a British singer and songwriter. She is known for competing in The X Factor, in 2012. Two years later she released a top UK hit, Ghost. Since then, she released several successful songs and also collaborated with Kygo on his single Here for You. Her debut album, Chapter One, immediately topped the UK charts and received a Platinum certification.
Early Life & The X Factor
Ella Henderson began singing at the age of three. Furthermore, she learned to play the piano all by herself. Ella graduated the prestigious Tring Park School for the Performing Arts. Apart from music, she has always been passionate about fashion, especially vintage fashion.
In 2012, she made her tv debut on a Channel 4 Christmas special, where she sang All I Want for Christmas Is You. Furthermore, she auditioned for The X Factor with an original song. She only lasted 7 weeks, to everybody’s shock. Many important celebrities showed her support, among which Adele, Chloë Grace Moretz, Simon Cowell, Lily Allen, and Cher.
Musical Evolution
In 2013, Ella Henderson signed with Syco Music. Furthermore, she performed at various events, including the 18th National Television Awards and the Summertime Ball. During the latter, she performed a duet of Beneath Your Beautiful with Labrinth. Additionally, she released a few live songs, including four originals. In the summer of 2014, she released her debut single, Ghost, to critical acclaim. Following on that success, the young singer released Glow, with similar results.
Her debut album came out in the fall of 2014 and spawned two more single, Yours and Mirror Man. In 2015, the artist toured with famous boy-band Take That and collaborated with electronic duo Sigma on their single Glitterball. Moreover, she was featured on Kygo’s international hit Here For You.
