Del the Funky Homosapien Biography

Born Teren Delvon Jones on 12 August 1972, Del is the cousin of the famous rapper Ice Cube. He started his career writing for Da Lench Mob, Ice Cube’s group.

Early Career

Homosapien issued his first solo album I Wish My Brother Was Here (1991) at the age of 18. His album was a commercial success thanks to the single “Mistadobalina”. The next album was titled No Need for Alarm. After this album, he joined the group Hieroglyphics.

Next Phase

Del’s third album Future Development (1998) was at first only available in tape form. In 2002 it was re-released under the Hieroglyphics Imperium label. He collaborated with Gorillaz for the singles “Clint Eastwood” and “Rock the House”.

While releasing albums with the Hieroglyphics, he also focused on his solo career, issuing albums like Both Sides of the Brain (2000) and Eleventh Hour (2008). Del the Funky Homosapien’s next albums were available for free, for a minimum of 3$ or for any payment the client would like to offer. Root Stimulation saw the light of day in 2012 and Iller Than Most appeared in 2014.
