Day Wave is an American indie rock band from Oakland, California, formed in 2015 by the only member Jackson Phillips. The band released its debut album, The Days We Had, on May 5, 2017.

Day Wave is an American indie rock band from Oakland, California, formed in 2015 by the only member Jackson Phillips. Day Wave received attention in a number of prominent publications including the Los Angeles Times and Billboard, boosting their status and eventually opening for Blonde Redhead during their tour.
Early Life
Jackson Phillips was born in Oakland California. He attended the Berklee College of Music, where he studied jazz drumming and electro-pop. Eventually, he began to write music and found inspiration New Order and Joy Division. Phillips gained popularity on Soundcloud, notably with the song “Drag”.
Breakthrough
Shortly after creating Day Wave, the artist released a debut EP, titled “Headcase”. One year later, Day Wave signed with Harvest Records, subsequently releasing the single “Wasting Time”, which preceded Phillips’ debut album. In March 2016, a second EP came out, “Hard to Read”, followed by extensive touring, with an actual, whole band. The band released its debut album, “The Days We Had“, on May 5, 2017. The record generated 2 new singles, “Something Here” and “Promises”.
