Dan Auerbach is an American musician, best known as the vocalist and guitarist of the blues-rock band The Black Keys.

Dan Auerbach is an American, Grammy-awarded musician, best known as the vocalist and guitarist of the blues-rock band The Black Keys. In 2009, he launched a solo career, releasing his debut album titled Keep It Hid. Dan is currently working on a second album, Waiting on a Song, due for 2017. Additionally, he also took part of The Barnburners, The Fast Five, Blakroc and The Arcs.
Early Life
Auerbach was born in Ohio, in 1979. He grew up listening to blues, from his father’s vinyl records. Furthermore, he was influenced by his uncle, a bluegrass musician. Dan attended McGill University in Montreal, a period during which he listened to Junio Kimbrough. He dropped out of college to pursue a music career.
The Black Keys
Dan Auerbach is most famous as a member of The Black Keys. The band released 8 studio albums, notably 2010’s Brothers and 2011’s El Camino, which transformed them into a consecrated, commercially successful, blues-rock group. The albums reached numbers 3 and 2 on the Billboard 200. Additionally, the spawned popular singles such as Howlin’ for You, respectively, Lonely Boy and Little Black Submarines. In 2014, The Black Keys topped the US albums chart with their next record, Turn Blue. Moreover, it marked their consecutive third platinum-awarded album.
