Cigarettes After Sex is an American ambient pop group, led by Greg Gonzales. They are known for their melancholic, moody and romantic sound. Their most popular songs are Affection, Dreaming of You and K.

Debut & Breakthrough

The group formed in 2008, in El Paso, Texas. They created their debut EP, I., during university, initially as an experiment. The EP featured Nothing’s Gonna Hurt You Baby, I’m A Firefighter, Dreaming Of You and Starry Eyes. The third track reached 13 million views on Youtube. In 2015, Cigarettes After Sex released their most popular single, Affection, with over 25 million views. “There’s just such an intimacy to Cigarettes After Sex’s sound that it’s impossible to not let it into the pit of your belly,” consequently wrote Independentmusicnews. Furthermore, they released a highly acclaimed cover of REO Speedwagon’s Keep On Loving You.

2016 – Present

Eventually, they started to perform live shows around Europe and the US. The band’s third single, K, came out in 2016. Preceding their debut eponymous studio album, Cigarettes After Sex released a fourth single, Apocalypse in 2017. The upcoming album contains 10 tracks and is due June 2017.
