Chance the Rapper is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer.
Chance the Rapper Biography
Born Chancelor Johnathan Bennett on 16 April 1993, Chance started rapping from an early age. He formed a hip-hop duo with a friend in high school.
Early Years and Breakthrough
After a 10-day suspension from high school, Benett put all his work into his first full-length project. The mixtape 10 Day brought him into the bigger rap scene.
Soon after the young rapper’s debut, Childish Gambino featured him on the song “They Don’t Like Me”. Chance joined Gambino’s tour. In 2013, Benett issued the second mixtape, titled Acid Rap. His musical project received a score of 86/100 from Metacritic.
He performed at Lollapalooza and appeared on commercials for MySpace and Dockers. To top it off, he was featured on Gambino’s 2013 album Because the Internet.
One of the Best
Chance co-wrote songs for Kanye West’s album The Life Of Pablo. Next up he worked with artists such as Macklemore, Alicia Keys and Busta Rhymes. In 2016 he issued his third mixtape Coloring Book. It debuted at number 8 on the Billboard 200. He again met with tremendous positive reviews and critical acclaim. Chance won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album with Coloring Book.
