Brad Paisley Biography

Brad Paisley is an American country music singer-songwriter which has released more than 10 albums in a career spanning 18 years. He has won 3 Grammys, 14 Academy of Country Music Awards and 14 Country Music Association Awards.

Early Life

Bradley Douglas “Brad” Paisley was born on October 28, 1972, in Glen Dale, West Virginia. He was introduced to music by his grandfather, learned guitar at age 8 and wrote his first song at 13. After finishing college with a degree in music business, he was offered a songwriting deal at EMI Music.

Professional Debut

Under the label Artista, Brad released the number 1 songs “He Didn’t Have to Be” and “We Danced” from his debut album “Who Needs Pictures” 1999. The album was certified platinum and won him a Grammy for “Best New Artist”. “I Wish You’d Stay”, “Wrapped Around”, and “Two People Fell in Love” from his second album “Part II” were present in the top 10 list. The album stayed on the charts for more than 70 weeks.

Continuous Success

The track “Mud on the Tires” from the album with the same name was number 1 on the Billboard in 2004. It received double-platinum certification. Paisley next album “Time Well Wasted” received 4 Grammy nominations “Best Country Album”, “Best Country Song”, “Best Country Instrumental” and “Best Country Vocal, Male” in 2006. “5th Gear” was released as his fifth studio album in 2007, supporting the album with a tour that lasted 10 months in over 90 cities. An instrumental album “Play” was revealed in 2008 making the single with the same name Brad’s 13th number 1 hit. In 2009 he performed at the White House for Barrack Obama and Michelle Obama, previously releasing the seventh album “American Saturday Night”. He released his lowest performing album “Wheelhouse” in 2013 as it did not reach the top charts like its predecessors. “Moonshine in the Trunk” released in 2014, became Paisley’s 8th number 1 album on Billboard’s Top Country Albums list. “Today” a 2016 single from his upcoming album “Love and War” gave Paisley his first Country Digital Song Sales number 1.
