6LACK Biography

6LACK is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter and currently known for the single PRBLMS.

Early Life

Also known as Ricardo Valdez Valentine, he was born in Baltimore, Maryland on June 24, 1992. He moved to Atlanta, Georgia at 5 years old with his father and mother.

Career Beginnings

6LACK dropped out of Valdosta State University once he was signed to the indie record label July. Following the next three years, he would spend time learning about the industry and releasing material on SoundCloud. He felt that the label he was in, restricted his creativity so he was lucky enough to change record to Interscope and Love Renaissance.

Success

Between 2015 and 2016 he was able to release his dazed contemporary R&B/rap jams with singles like Bless Me and Loyal. 6LACK was able to make his breakthrough release with PRBLMS, issued under Interscope. He revealed his debut album Free 6LACK, which peaked at number 68 on Billboard 200 chart. This marked his first entry in Billboard.
