Khalid Biography

Khalid Robinson is a young American R&B singer. His debut single, Location, reached the US Billboard Hot 100. Among his musical inspirations are Kendrick Lamar, A$AP Rocky, and Frank Ocean. 

Life & Career

Khalid wast born in 1998 in Georgia. As a child, he moved frequently because of his mother’s military career. He studied singing and musical theater in high school.

His very first single was a massive success. First, it was due to socialite Kylie Jenner promoting it on her Snapchat. Consequently, Location reached the second spot on the Billboard Twitter Emerging Artists chart. The young artist received recognition from several publications such as Billboard, Yahoo, Buzzfeed, and Rolling Stone. Additionally, in 2017 the song reached the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot R&B Songs. Khalid also released a video which got over 6 million views on Youtube.

In early 2017, he was featured on Alina Baraz‘s single Electric. Furthermore, the collaborated with Brasstracks on the song Whirlwind. After that, Khalid went on his Location Tour and sold out every venue. His latest released is actually his debut album, American Teen, which debuted at number 9 on the Billboard 200. The most popular tracks from the album, apart from his iconic debut hit, are Saved and Shot Down.
